Our Updates
Summer Camping Programs Update - July 10, 2020
Due to strenuous provincial and local health unit regulations and restrictions, we have decided that we cannot open the John Paul II Cultural Center in a meaningful way this summer and so it will remain closed to all camping programs during 2020.
We will take this summer as an opportunity to further improve upon the site, making it even more suitable for quality summer camping programs.
FFI continues to seek new ways to connect and encourage families, meeting the emerging needs that families face in our current circumstances. Stay tuned to email correspondence and website postings to find helpful resources and initiatives.

Announcing Virtual Anchor Camp for Girls - June 27, 2020
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have had to rethink the usual overnight format of Anchor Camp for Girls. As an alternative, we’re excited to offer this virtual camp for the summer of 2020!
Features:
“Camp-in-a-box”
Sent to campers during the week of August 17-21 so that your daughter will be ready for Anchor Camp. This package is included in the camp fee and will contain all the necessary materials and supplies for virtual camp including a camp t-shirt!
Same fun, same friends!
This camp proves that making lasting friendships and having fun is a natural part of living a virtuous life! Activities include: arts & crafts, workshops/tutorials, music, baking, talks, games & fun.
Safe and secure
Privacy and security remain a top priority. Camp will be delivered via a secure online portal (the Campsite) hosted on our website accessible only with a unique username and password, we will use the online platforms WebinarJam and GoToMeeting. All online activities will have adult supervision. Leaders and hosts are all trained on security best practices and how to monitor live presentation rooms.
Summer Camping Programs Update - May 21, 2020
Dear families and friends of FFI,
Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, Family Foundations Institute has had to cancel all overnight camps, but we have alternatives coming! This includes re-thinking Anchor Camp for Girls, Knight’s Quest Boys Camp, and Family Camp.
We are certainly disappointed not to have the honour of facilitating connection between families and children through our summer camping programs; however, we are excited to pursue unique opportunities to reach out and stay connected to you all regardless!
Stay tuned as we roll out various opportunities and initiatives. As always, we remain connected as a community and if you ever need anything, please reach out to us. We intend to responsibly adhere to health official recommendations and we will respond as restrictions lighten; physical restrictions do not mean that our work and initiatives must end.
What if I already registered?
If you already registered and did not pay, no action is needed. We will contact you announcing our alternative programming.
What if I already paid for camp?
Any individual or family who has registered for our summer camping programs will have their camping fee refunded in full. We will contact you directly.
Message from Executive Director - March 19, 2020
Dear families and friends of FFI,
With my whole heart I greet you wherever you may be. I want to let you know that we are praying for you and praying for all families everywhere.
This is a time of unexpected circumstances. Much is out of our control or beyond our understanding but we know that our Heavenly Father has all things in hand and that “all things work for good for those who love God.” (Rom 8:28).
[su_quote cite=”Romans 8:28″]All things work for good for those who love God.[/su_quote]
Let us connect by the way of hearts and prayers and even though we physically can’t get together we certainly can encourage each other. Let us pray for families everywhere, for your own family and for those who do not have family. Let us also pray for our church leaders, the priests, deacons and front line workers at this time who are caring for and comforting the sick. Let us also think of those who are alone and vulnerable who need our attention. Phone them! Send them pictures of what you are doing! Show them your love.
At this time the FFI office will remain accessible through email. If you need anything or are seeking any sort of assistance, don’t hesitate to contact us and we will respond. We will make use of our Facebook page, website, and email audience to share positive ideas for families and tips to encourage and inform. Please follow us on Facebook here, or search Family Foundations Institute.
FFI also has a subscription to formed.org and we want to make it available to you as you stay isolated as best you can. To access our subscription, select “I belong to a Parish or Organization” when you sign up – then search for “Family Foundations Institute” in the search bar, once you select our subscription you’ll be able to create an account using your email. Formed is loaded with great material that can help you grow spiritually at this time and is great for children and adults! Let’s seize this opportunity for interior growth, healing, unity and caring for our brothers and sisters.
God the Father of the whole Human family desires to pour His love and mercy upon all of us. Pray the Rosary. Let’s help each other. Count on my prayers –
St. Joseph, Pillar of Family Life. Pray for Us.
