The Power of Story Episode Twelve
Missionary Disciples
Thursday, March 11
7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
What is better? To receive a gift or to give a gift? You may have been asked this by a grandparent or told by a parent that it always feels good to give to others, especially those less fortunate than ourselves. St. Francis of Assisi said “it is in giving that we receive” and it serves as a reminder that we are called not to stay to ourselves but share the good news of the gospel with those in our lives. You don’t have to be on NET, CCO or Abroad to be a missionary disciple, you can be a missionary disciple in your own home, school, social media, really anywhere. Tonight we will be discussing the call to be missionary disciples in wherever your story has you currently placed.

Episode Guest
Katelyn and John Bishop
John and Katelyn Bishop live in Denver with their daughter, Talitha Marie. They have been married for 16 months and love it! Both work for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). John has a leadership role in FOCUS Formation Department, overseeing several teams and initiatives. He also writes and speaks on several topics. Katelyn works for FOCUS Greek, an affinity group which seeks to evangelize fraternities and sororities. John and Katelyn grew up Catholic but lost their faith in college. After living a life of sin, they eventually returned to the Catholic Church and want nothing more than to spread the faith to anyone who will listen. John has nearly completed his PhD at the Catholic University of America with specialties in moral and systematic theology. He and Katelyn both have a passion for John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.
