The Power of Story Episode Eight
The Call to Love
Thursday, January 14
7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
“Vocations” is a word within the Catholic Church that can cause a stir in our hearts, a sense of restlessness and a desire for certainty. While understandably so, the question of “What is my vocation?” is a primacy in the lives of young faithful followers. It can be missed however that the universal call of the church is to holiness and mission. The call of sacrificial love for the other. The time of waiting for our vocation to become clear can be discouraging, confusing and all wasted at times – yet we are reminded that no part of our story is wasted and in Christ alone is our true satisfaction to be found.

Episode Guest
Elizabeth Busby
Elizabeth Busby is a passionate lover of Jesus, wife to a handsome bearded engineer, and mom to two sweet children, the first of whom they named for St. John Paul II! She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University (whoop!), and she earned a Master’s degree in Theological Studies from Ave Maria University, where she wrote her thesis on how St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body can aid in the discernment of a vocation to marriage. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Counseling with a focus on marriage and family therapy from Southern Methodist University, and she works as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She has a passion for helping people fall in love with Jesus and helping people discern and live God’s joyful plan for holy marriages and family life. To that end, she and her husband run Discerning Marriage Ministries, and she hosts the Discerning Marriage Podcast through the Theology of the Body Institute. Elizabeth loves living the liturgical year with her family, the fact that the leaves change color in autumn, watching her beloved Texas A&M Aggies football games, and traveling.
