The sacraments are a tangible sign of the teachings of the Catholic Church coming alive in our lives, our homes, our schools and our communities. The sacraments are Christ’s love made visible. As Catholic Christians preparation and receiving of the sacraments are defining moments of our stories for though Christ is truly always present, the graces received in a particular moment are defining of sustenance to fulfill our calling to holiness. Father David Butler and I will be discussing the everyday significance of the sacraments, their meaning, their grace and their ultimate role in the life of the Catholic Church.

Fr. David Butler

Fr. David Butler comes from Belle River Ontario, where he grew up on a farm, and is the youngest of four children. He was ordained a priest in 2010 and has just celebrated his 10th anniversary. Fr. David has served the past 5 of those years in the Stratford area and is about to become the new pastor of the Avon-Thames Catholic family of parishes; which includes St. Joseph’s & Immaculate Conceptions churches in Stratford and Holy Name of Mary in St. Marys.
