Elvis Grbac

Elvis Grbac grew up in Willoughby Hills and graduated from St. Joseph High School before taking his talent to Ann Arbor where he went on to play quarterback for the University of Michigan under Coach Bo Schembechler and then his successor Gary Moeller. Following a record setting college career at Michigan, he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 1993 and went on to play 9 seasons in the NFL. Throughout the span of his football career, Grbac received many accolades and recognition including an AFC West title, Pro Bowl appearance, and Super Bowl XXIX Championship.

Inspired to share his life story and continue coaching beyond football, Elvis has become very involved in the Catholic community in Northeast Ohio. He serves on the pastoral council at the Church of the Holy Angels in Chagrin Falls and is involved in teaching Youth Catechesis. Elvis is also currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary.

Cale Clarke

Cale’s two most amazing discoveries in life have been that Jesus would forgive him, and that his wife Patricia would marry him. In 2004, Cale returned to the Catholic Church after spending ten years in Evangelical Protestantism, with much of that time spent in pastoral ministry.

As the director of the Faith Explained Institute, Cale works to equip Catholics with the tools they need to explain and defend their faith, using the Scriptures as their guide. He is a frequent keynote speaker at retreats and conferences, and created The New Mass app, the first iPhone and Android app for understanding the new English translation of the Mass.

Cale’s graduate supervisor is the legendary New Testament scholar Dr. Craig A. Evans. Together, Dr. Evans and Cale participated in the ongoing archaeological dig outside the old city walls of Jerusalem. This excavation, which has unearthed a likely high priestly mansion from the time of Jesus, was recently featured on NBC News.

Cale has guest hosted Catholic Answers Live, the #1 Catholic radio program in the world. He has also been interviewed on EWTN’s The Journey Home program, on CTV News, and on CBC News’ The National. He is also a popular columnist for Catholic Answers Magazine.
